Black History Month Conversation with Victor Andre Greene
We can find a history of Christianity and racism at the geographic and ideological site of the plantation. But like Lucille Clifton’s poem, Won’t You Celebrate with Me, there is also a celebration mapped against the haunt.
Our guest speaker will be VICTOR ANDRE GREENE (He/Him), a Spoken Word Poet + Creative and Editorial Assistant + UCC Licensed Minister + Founder of Room 305 + Community Developer located in Paris, France. After serving as the first and only BIPOC pastor as the American Church in Paris, Victor left and created ROOM 305, a gathering community that uses storytelling to prompt curiosity about ourselves and one another, to practice mindfulness, to seek wholeness, and form expansive ways to be together.
This Black History Month conversation is brought to you by St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Santa Monica, St. Augustine by the Sea and First Presbyterian Church of Santa Monica.
